LAND MARKS presents a selected group of eleven artists who explore their individual relationships and approaches to contemporary urban and rural landscape.
About
Expressive and varied mark making is a vital tool for the artist, demonstrated in this wide-ranging exhibition. Swift, considered, broad, energetic, graphic, thick, transparent, hard-edged, layered, textured; all these marks are used to create works which range from figurative to pure abstract. The marks are as individual as the artists themselves.
LAND MARKS shows the artists’ diverse responses to the environment: recollection of personal experiences, appreciation of beauty, resonance with inner consciousness, reflections of states of mind; from the big picture to small elements within it.
The works range from painting and sculpture to a variety of printing techniques, including etching, screen print and monoprint.
