Pallant House Gallery presents a new exhibition of drawings and paintings depicting the fishing community of Hastings Stade, created by the Sussex-based artist Laetitia Yhap

About

Yhap immersed herself completely in the fishing community of Hastings Stade over a 20 year period, until a realisation that she was allergic to the substance in the paint forced her to end the series. The exhibition will focus on the progression from her figurative drawings as an immediate form of documentary, to her fully realised paintings and will include a selection of drawings and some of her smaller paintings, typically created on boards and in frames made by the artist herself.
