A new collection of work by the British contemporary artist celebrating Cornwall's inshore fishermen.

About

The artist has been working, sailing and filming alongside the Penwith fishermen who work out of the harbours and ports of West Cornwall. These men use traditional methods to catch crab, lobster, mackerel, bass, sardines and pollock, working with hand lines, nets and pots from small boats.

Jackson's paintings, drawings and sculpture – created in situ in 'crazily challenging conditions' –  are shown alongside supporting film and fishing artefacts. By immersing himself so fully in the environment of Cornish fishermen, the artist has been able to draw attention to issues of tradition, identity, heritage and community.
