Contemporary art fair in Central Germany 2017

7. to 10. September

From 7th to 10th September 2017 the site of the Salbker Turmpark in the Saxony-Anhalt state capital Magdeburg becomes, as part of the KUNST/MITTE - Kunstmesse in Mitteldeutschland, an artistic negotiating room for a wide genre of contemporary art. More than 60 artists from all over Germany and i.a. from Austria, Switzerland and Italy, present their contemporary artworks within over 600m² of exhibition space and in the adjoining sculpture park.

Since 2013, the H2O Turmpark e.V. is the operator of the wastefully restored former pump house and the adjacent outdoor area on Salbker Wasserturm. With the 2nd KUNST/MITTE the organizers draw one step closer to their goal of establishing an art fair in central Germany. Undoubtedly, the KUNST/MITTE seems to have the potential to become a respected national and international platform and an interdisciplinary contact forum for all those people and institutions that work at the interfaces between the art market and creative industries.

The actual art fair with its extensive range of graphics, painting, design, object and light art, photography, installation, street art, sculpture and many more is supplemented by a number of interdisciplinary, free program points. Among them live performances, experimental film and music, visual art, free guided tours of the exhibition and art education for children.
