About
‘KSENOI’ is a group exhibition that presents new works by seven Greek immigrant artists based on their visual representation of identity, heritage and emotional journey of immigration through knots.
Bringing these artists into conversation for the first time, the multiple facets of the knot are explored as a strong bond, a tie to your country and heritage, but also as a confusion, a tight mess of who you are or where do you belong, something all of us have experienced as immigrants.
Every artist in the space will be exploring the idea of their personal KNOT through abstraction, colour, film, photography, textiles and installation.
How is this new generation of artists performing the interplay of these chaotic, but unquestionably enticing inherent signs and symbols that define our experiences?
This exhibition aims to give the artists a voice and an opportunity to showcase their creativity and practise in a safe and familiar environment; a platform for the Greek community to share their experiences and speak on social issues of immigration and how this has shaped their artistic identity.
