In order to arrive at the star shape I observed a folded a triangular sheet of paper in space. The geometrical flattening of that form is actually a five-sided polygon. Then I repeated and overlapped the polygon shape 4 times overlapping them in a concentric circle to arrive at the star. The idea for the triangle originates in Lygia Clark’s “casulo” artworks. I recently executed much larger “lawn drawings” in the central gardens at the Getty Center in Los Angeles.
