KRYŠTOF KAPLAN (born 1987) has been a resident of Pragovka since 2019. In 2015–2016 Kryštof worked as an assistant in Jindřich Zeithamml's studio at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague. Last year, his solo exhibitions Tension in DOX and Metaphysics in the Atrium in Prague took place, and he was recently represented at the Re_form sculptural exhibition at the Trafo Gallery in Prague. Kryštof Kaplan's sculptural work is characterized by a generally generous form, plasticity realized by basic physical laws, often combined with mechanical construction, a certain scenic drama is typical for his installations. In the set of the latest objects, he works with spatial expansion, the result of which is reminiscent of an almost bodily modeling of his earlier works.
