'Komorebi’ installation, features four large, oil-on-aluminium artworks by artist Amelia Bowles, and curator Millie Jason Foster of Gillian Jason Gallery.
About
Inspired by the Japanese word describing sunlight filtering through trees, ‘Komorebi’ is the second act in the ‘Beyond the Matrix’ series by Brookfield Properties and the Association of Women in the Arts (AWITA). With only 13% of known sculptures in London attributed to women, the initiative aims to help close the gender gap and provide an important platform in London’s, now buzzing, Square Mile.
The free and accessible installation, illuminated 24/7, is on display in the glass-fronted atrium of Brookfield Properties’ 100 Bishopsgate until February 2025.
'Komorebi' responds to the fast-paced and ever-changing cityscape of London, offering viewers perspectives and an experience that bridges the exterior and interior and explores the relationship between space, mass and materiality.
