The K-Music Showcase, an event introducing the best of the latest independent Korean music, will return for its sixth iteration this year with an online edition from 26 - 28 May.

About

The 2021 Showcase will include a line-up of 6 bands, giving audiences a rare opportunity to experience different voices and music from Korea, across the genres of hip-hop, R&B, EDM, alternative pop and punk. Artists taking part in this year’s edition include BIBI, Samuel Seo, Se So Neon, George, Idiotape and Drinking Boys and Girls Choir.

BIBI is an urban R&B and hip-hop singer/ songwriter based in Seoul and was recognised by Spotify as one of their 2020 Top 5 Most Streamed RADAR Korean Artists. As the winner of the ‘Best R&B Soul Record Award’ at the 2016 Korea Popular Music Awards, Samuel Seo has been infusing new energy to the Hip-hop and R&B scene in Korea. He incorporates various genres into his work, including R&B, soul, hip hop, funk, electronica, and synthpop. Drinking Boys And Girls Choir is a 3-piece skate punk band who take inspiration from Daegu’s 90s-00s hardcore punk/indie-rock scene.

The 2021 K-Music Showcase will be presented in partnership with the Sejong Center in Seoul, as well as the Korean Cultural Centres in the UK, Belgium and Spain. This year’s Showcase is the most international edition and will stream simultaneously via the YouTube channels of the Korean Cultural Centres in UK, Spain and Belgium as well as in Korea. As part of the special programme of events to celebrate the G7 Summit, the Showcase will also be broadcast worldwide on Arirang Global TV from 11 - 13 June.
