"an informal social gathering for conversation at which coffee is generally served."
Join us for our closing event: 15/03/2019, 6-8pm!
As artists work within shared environments, our practices are continually in conversation with one another.
But what happens when you change the context of that conversation, and let peers engage, discuss, provoke and challenge each others’ practices outside of the studio?
When installing an exhibition the artist is given a set amount of time, this transitional period can be the most invaluable and informative to the artist. Within this time frame, new connections can be made within the works, dialogues can be opened up and as artists, new ways of thinking can be formed.
Klatch is an exhibition where the installation of the show never stops. From the day we bring our work in, until our final night we will be continually evolving the space to challenge not only our curational experience are artists, but openly discuss the relationships between ourselves & the work.
Through this approach, we will be creating new work inspired by each other’s rituals, we will prompt fresh discussions about our practices, and critically discuss what it means to be an artist in the contemporary world.
By breaking down traditions, the conventions of painting and how one exhibits within the gallery space, Klatch will shed new light into how young artists challenge the contemporary art scene, with hope to change how the audience experiences art when the show itself is ever fluid.
