The first painting I ever bought by Peter Janssen was still narrative. Soon, it no longer captured my interest and I increasingly discovered that the things that a painting, a drawing did not show, the in-between was much more inspiring. My encounter with Gerhard Hoehme and his motto »When one doesn’t look, one looks more closely« became my inspiration and led me to make new discoveries. At the beginning, I wanted to focus on a space that was manageable for me: from Hoehme and Uecker through Rolf-Gunter Dienst and Ruth Wolf-Rehfeld to Michael Müller. Now I am also exploring artists from England, India, and Korea and that have to get along with one another.
