Live event featuring Angus Macdonald, James Bragg and MontenegroFisher, all improvising in response to exhibition Everything Put Together Falls Apart by Angus Macdonald.

About

Have you ever asked yourself what do non-musical objects sound like? Have you ever considered yourself to be lifted into a spiritual experience by the musical compositions of objects we normally ignore or take for granted?

In this exhibition by Angus Macdonald, he interlinks spaces of thought, from applied physics, pictorial reflections of output shadows, the creation of applied magnetism to generate movement and the probability of objects collisions to create spiritual sounds. All of these represented as a standalone sculpture and interacting with the space and the bodily movement of Angus in his conversation with the sculpture.

He improvises his performance between the play of sounds, shadows and applied magnetism. The sculpture or embodied musical composition expresses its structural instability of vibrating atoms, making its ‘inner life’ visible to our senses.

Joining Angus's performance will be:

James Bragg is a 2021 UWE Fine Art graduate working across multiple practices including VR and photogrammetry. For Kinetic Jam he will be improvising live with modular synthesisers, contact mics and objects.
