Kim Yahya is an artist who explores the possibility of paint. The paint is the subject matter. Paint is used as a medium to scrutinise, to open possibilities, to obscure, to bring something back from disappearance and to offer truth. He often works without preconceived ideas and allows chance and subconscious thoughts to inform actions on the canvas resulting in unexpected and expressive images.
Kim Yahya has exhibited widely including in the Royal Academy Summer Exhibitions and the Independent Art Fair. In 2014, Kim Yahya was commissioned by Crisis to create a painting which was exhibited at Bermondsey Project, Strand Gallery and Christie's First LDN sale.
