Smoke & Mirrors
About
Having carved himself a gloriously honest, inherently English swathe through the worlds of graffiti, illustration, product design and hip-hop, Kid Acne's eagerly awaited debut London solo exhibition, Smoke & Mirrors will be held at Stella Dore Gallery in April 2009. Part exhibition, part installation, the show will be a concoction of iconography and imagery inspired by sources such as Freemasonry, Demonology and Paganism. Deceptively simple depictions of female warriors in both a state of undress and euphoria continue to be his chosen theme of exploration in an ongoing body of work. Combining trademark decisive strokes with 3D incarnations, Kid Acne intends to transform the gallery space into the secret society setting for this tribe of scantily clad ladies. To accompany this series of exclusive works, Acne has collaborated with audio oracle, Cherrystones to create a bespoke soundtrack for the show.
