Pride done differently, for all ages!
About
Kendal Pride is returning this year and it’s going to be bigger and better!
The Pride Village is taking place at Abbot Hall and will be brimming with stalls, talks, food, entertainment, and family activities from Ragtag Arts. From 12 midday your toes will be tapping as a line-up of entertainment takes to the stage. Plus, for the final two hours, there’ll be a special family friendly finale – the Festi-Ball.
The Ragtag Roadshow, 10am-4pm
Join Rag and Tag and spend a day playing with things that you might throw away. Young and old are welcomed to join in, reuse, create and play with pride themed eco-arts activities throughout the day at the Pride Village at Abbot Hall. Bring your creativity and imagination!
Festi-Ball finale, 5-7pm
The first ever Festi-Ball! Combining the glitz and glamour of ballroom and fashion, with the weirdness, expression, music and mud of northern festivals (though hopefully not too much mud!)
Taking over the bowling green at Abbot Hall you can expect an immersive, child-friendly experience with music, dancing and performances, created in collaboration with students from Kendal College. There’ll be sideshows, performances, and even a special Pride Ceilidh dance, with live music from The Weirdstrings Band.
Alongside the village, the programme across the weekend will include everything from free walks, cycles, climbs and open water swims. Also, don’t miss The Big Pride Party, an evening of high camp, fabulous entertainment from queens and kings from Cumbria and beyond, plus all your favourite queer classics to keep you dancing the night away.
