10th Berlin Biennale: We don’t need another hero
09 Jun 2018 – 09 Sep 2018
Berlin
Berlin, Germany
Together with 8th grade students from the Hector-Peterson-Schule, South African artist Marlon Denzel van Rooyen embarks on a multimedia search for traces of intergenerational, musical experiences.
Within the framework of the 10th Berlin Biennale, Memory Jam explores how music and memory interact. It links the approaches of the Johannesburg-based research and media art collective Keleketla! Library with the history of the school’s namesake and engages with the young participants’ surroundings in the neighborhood of Kreuzberg.
The event will be held in English.
