KARST Graduate Residents Kat Hall (PCA) and Alice Benbridge (UoP) present work at the end of their 5-month residency at KARST, including a live performance in KARST's gallery space.
About
In September 2018, two Fine Art graduates from Plymouth College of Art and Plymouth University, supported by both institutions, were awarded a studio space at KARST for five months as part of the yearly graduate residency scheme. As a focused outcome to the residency, selected artists Kat Hall (PCA) and Alice Benbridge (UoP) will be presenting new work for an exhibition at KARST, including a live performance in the gallery space at the opening.
Every year KARST invites applications from 2 Fine Art Graduates from Plymouth College of Art and Plymouth University for a shared Studio Residency of 5 months (September - January). This unique opportunity for professional/practice development offers free shared studio space with mentoring from KARST Directors/Studio Holders, and visiting artists/curators.
The Residency is also supported by PCA and UoP tutors who hold regular meetings with the graduates; it culminates in a show in KARST's lower gallery at the end of the residency period. Past Graduate Residents have significantly developed their practice and progressed to show in exhibitions and gain their own studio spaces.
