Celebrated DJ, producer, musician and artist Justin Robertson has organised a free 3-day event centred around his latest art exhibition. The Explorer’s Chronicle features art, music and discussions.
About
The kind of get together which will entertain, fascinate and make you wonder all at the same time, The Explorer’s Chronicle will take place from June 15th- June 17th at the Red Gallery in Shoreditch. It will feature an exhibition of Justin’s most recent artworks along with talks and discussions, philosophy and live music from a wide range of bright minds.
The line-up includes celebrated author John Higgs, American writer and musician Gary Lachman (one of the founding members of Blondie), author Nina Lyon and the acclaimed game designer and philosopher Dr Chris Bateman.
There is live music from Circle Sky (featuring Richard Norris and Martin Dubka) and on Friday night a live music showcase curated by Justin and the legendary imprint Skint Records who were behind his 2015 Everything Is Turbulence album - plus a brilliant line up of DJs, including Justin himself.
The cornerstone of the exhibition is the first showing of Justin’s new collection of art - presented in a mixture of media. Drawing on the great tradition of botanical sketching, his inspirational work depicts the flora and fauna of this alternate universe, finding inspiration in the patterns of the natural world. Other themes include magik, possession, the supernatural, fantastical creatures, the history of belief, past times and cultures, uncertainty and alien life forms. A dedicated book of illustration and text and a bespoke soundtrack will accompany the exhibition.
