London based artist Juno Calypso makes self-portraits in which she performs under the guise of a character named Joyce. In elaborately staged photographs Juno uses Joyce to explore modern rituals of seduction and beauty, and the laboured construction of femininity. For her most recent series Juno travelled to a Pennsylvanian honeymoon hotel, where she stayed alone for a week producing unsettling new photographic and video work.
Juno Calypso is a 2012 BA Photography graduate from London College of Communication. Her work has since been exhibited in London, New York and Miami, alongside features in The British Journal of Photography, The Guardian, Dazed & Confused, The Sunday Times, VICE and The Huffington Post.
All prints and a limited edition of posters will be available to buy during the exhibition.
