July Fourth - the day Earth is at the farthest distance from the Sun. The aphelion, this precise point of the ellipse, reminds us that despite an immense distance, forces keep Earth bound to its star. This connection does not seem to be weakened.

The group exhibition July Fourth brings together artists who explore textile as a medium. By playing with textures, colors, and shapes, they weave captivating visual narratives. Through their work, the artists evoke both the fragility and resilience of life, at a time when our relationship with nature - a construction by definition anthropocentric - needs to be reinvented. By establishing links between the tangible and the intangible, transcending the boundaries between art and craft, the artists offer a new perspective, one of resilience, on our way of understanding and interacting with our environment.

A proposal and curation by artists Abbey Muza and Maria Szakats.

The exhibition is accompanied by a text by author and PhD candidate Jenny Harris.
