'As I See It' solo exhibition of paintings by British artist Juliet Lawson will walk you through the past ten years of her artistic life with a special focus on COVID art.

About

'As I See It' exhibition takes place on 14 - 30 October 2021 with the Opening Night on Thursday, 14 October.  A large proportion of paintings on display were created by Juliet Lawson during the lockdown.  Her covid art is nature-themed and is full of light.  The other side of her multifaceted creativity is urban dystopia, metropolises and crowds.  Juliet uses oil, acrylics, pastel, watercolours, charcoal and pen and ink to create figurative paintings the way she sees them, where perception of reality is the key to understanding and appreciation of her work.  The Opening Night will see Juliet Lawson singing. She has been known as a singer-songwriter throughout her life.

Finsbury Business Centre is a family-run dynamic and stylish coworking space located in the heart of Clerkenwell.  The nearest tube station is Farringdon.  Spacious gallery 134 is located on the 3rd floor of the building.  Admission: free.

Those who know Juliet will know her as a singer-songwriter who's been performing continuously since before the release of her first album BOO in 1972... but not everyone is aware that she also  has a parallel career as a painter, dating back to her training at Wimbledon College of Art in the late 60s, followed by a stint at set design for the Royal Court Theatre.

Over the years, she's had the pleasure of seeing several of her works finding their way into private collections, both in Britain and abroad.

Spurred on by the shameful collapse of musicians' royalties, coupled with the bonus of lockdowns being a fecund time for some creatives, Juliet has a wealth of delights and surprises to put on show during the last fortnight of October, appropriately displayed in London's creative hub of Clerkenwell.

The exhibition takes place in the dynamic Finsbury Business Centre, recently invigorated to provide the most up to date office facilities, both in style, range of office sizes, break-out spaces, work hubs, meeting spaces, day beds, outdoor terraces overlooking historic London, and the infectious spirit of young people going somewhere creative.

Juliet's sizeable exhibition of  about 150 paintings is displayed on the 3rd floor  -  in  suite 134, a vast cavern of a space once occupied by the printers of the iconic 1930's Temple Press.

Friday, 29 October will see Halloween Art Soiree with Juliet Lawson.  Exciting Halloween prizes to be won!  We are look forward to seeing you between 5pm and 8pm.
