Two years ago to this very week JULIENNE BRAHAM held her sell-out show at the Hepsibah Gallery where she charmed clients and passers-by with her paintings which she continued to paint at a small easil in the unseasonable sunshine on the lovely forecourt of the Gallery...and so for her return... we are hoping to see this familiar figure painting and chatting in the February sun once again! The paintings show a colourist at work and her brushstroke and even her subject matter bring to mind Vuillard, Bonnard and the Nabis although I always particularly admire her placement of figures on the canvas echoing the mastery of this by Degas. At the last show I remember almost a scrum of clients to purchase drawings of cows in pencil inks and paints. They were lovely....and the artist's recent move to Wales predicts more of these wondrous beasts and I am reliably informed that the window centrepiece will be a huge Bull....I'm partial to the odd Minatoure myself so I'll be joining you in the scrummage for the red dot!!! Prices are good so this is one to visit even in a 'Crunch."
