AboutâI was sent away to boarding school at 7 (unfortunately or fortunately)â¦ I remember there was this corridor in the classroom block, I always remember this door. It was always slightly open and always appeared to be in darkness... One day my curiosity got the better of meâ¦and there it was...a darkroom. So, after classes had finished with no one around I would sneak into this room, lock the door and fiddle around with all the chemicals, paper and stuffâ¦ I wanted to be a photographer from that moment. There was nothing else in my mind, at all.'
