Love for the intricate textured line.
About
cueB Gallery is very proud to present “Journeys through Liminality”, an exhibition by Jack-Reuben Fletcher.
Most of Fletcher’s work is drawn directly from imagination - an amalgamation of imaginary, fantasy dream like characters and mystical, otherworldly landscapes.
He works mainly in black & white ink fine liners, with extreme attention to detail, his illustrations lend much of their quality to finely textured line work.
Fletcher describes his love for the intricate textured line as his therapy.
By freely exploring, shape, distorted dimensions and manipulating space, he is always reminded of the purity in the process.
Upon leaving university in Bristol, he has enjoyed travelling many countries around the world including India and Brazil and it is these life changing experiences he is most inspired by, amongst themes of the natural world, adventure, tribal and indigenous cultures, gender, geometry and psychedelia.
Whilst travelling, Jack has had the opportunity to explore a new found love of mural painting . Working within a wholly larger scale and different dimension has ironically become his escape from his usual hand at intricate B&W drawings, into a world of activated colour.
The artist wishes to engage its viewer by inviting them into this created world.
