About

Josephine Trotter's paintings of Cornwall, Yorkshire, the Welsh Borders and her home territory in Oxfordshire are very much in the tradition of modern post-Impressionism.  Her influences are clear to see from Van Gogh and Cezanne in her landscape to Matisse in her exquisite interiors.  She has however a strong fauve element with beautiful colour and a wild feel that makes the work distinctly her own. You know a Trotter when you see one.
