The Gallery of Palazzo Cini reopens to the public with an extraordinary dossier exhibition: Joseph Beuys. Finely Articulated, dedicated to one of the most important artists of the twentieth century.

About

Joseph Beuys, painter, sculptor, performer and theorist, was one of the most influential and emblematic polyhedral artists of the second half of the twentieth century and one of the few really capable of making art and life coincide. Beuys considered art to cure society's ills: a positive and healing force capable of awakening individual creativity, activating political awareness and stimulating social change.

The exhibition that takes its name from the main work on display Backrest for a fine-limbed person (hare-type) of the 20th Century AD) will present a selection of about 40 works by the master of conceptual art whose 100th anniversary was celebrated in 2021. Curated by Luca Massimo Barbero, director of the Giorgio Cini Foundation Institute of Art History and created in collaboration with the Thaddaeus Ropac gallery, the exhibition will be open to the public from 20 April to 2 October 2022 every day of the week (excluding on Tuesdays), guaranteeing the public to admire the rare works on display. The Gallery, with its permanent collections, will remain open until November 21, 2022.
