AboutThis exhibition will feature the work of the two Bath Spa Gallery curators Kimberley Wilcox and Josef Hoccom. This will bring together all the skills they have both learnt over their BA Hons year and will act as a platform for their future careers. This exhibition will mark the achievements of three years worth of work.
This temporary pop up exhibition will run for 5 days only, featuring Josef Hoccom, who's work looks at figurative subject matter and the relationships between figures and environments, figures relationships with each other and atmospheres created through figures in situation. The work focuses on a hybrid of mythical creatures, nutty objects and scenes of visceral uncomfortable anarchy. The work is trying to represent the randomness of appropriated fractured viewpoints that are held within our postmodernist society.
Kimberley Wilcox, whos work looks at the idea of genealogy, she looks at her family's heritage using stories and photograph's screen-printed onto vintage doors. The doors are a metaphoric passages way through to her past, retelling stories that have been passed down through the generations, but they also record the stories of the present and her own life experiences.
On the preview day there will be free limited edition prints from each artist and some interactive events will also be occurring.
