Jonny Briggs : Soil Culture Residency

London based, international artist Jonny Briggs will be giving a talk at White Moose about his artist residency in the Litchdon Street Alms Houses allotment, as part of the South West, Soil Culture project organised by Centre for Contemporary Art and the Natural World (CCANW), based at Exeter University. Working alongside the allotment holders, Jonny will be creating a photograph of a feast within an opulent setting, cast entirely from local excrement. His work will explore how 'soil', both a noun and a verb, feeds in to the notion of desire and disgust being intimately entwined; we may desire what disgusts us, and we may be disgusted at our own desires.
