Lazarides is proud to present Jonathan Yeo's The Print Retrospective, the inaugural exhibition at Lazarides Editions on London's South Bank.
About
Following Yeo's critically acclaimed 2013 exhibition at the National Portrait Gallery, The Print Retrospective comprises a major body of printed material mapping the artist's pioneering journey in printmaking over the past decade.
The upcoming showcase highlights key periods of the British portraitist's career, including a selection of unseen limited editions as well as new pieces made specifically to commemorate the launch of Lazarides Editions. Lazarides and Jonathan Yeo commenced collaborating in 2007 with Yeo's first exhibition to feature his hugely popular pornographic collage series. Bush, the unauthorised portrait of the then US president George W, was conceived and launched as a 22 colour screen print, igniting the artist's interest in printed editions. The screen print, initially made for preservation purposes, embraced the integrity of the original collage and prompted an experimental phase with printmaking, encompassing etching, layering, stenciling, hand finishing and digital formats.
To coincide with the launch of the new gallery and in celebration of seven years working with Jonathan Yeo, Lazarides Editions is thrilled to release an exclusive, hand-finished monograph created by the studio. The Many Faces of Jonathan Yeo illustrates poignant periods over the past several years, alongside a selection of unique leaf studies, lithographs and archival prints made in collaboration with the studio and signed by the artist.
