About

Erth screening and curators' talk

Chelsea College of Arts Lecture Theatre

July 17th – 3-4pm (Lecture Theatre) Talk + Erth Screening with Brandon Rickett and Ines Basille

First shown as part of Inn7o - Art and Economics at The Hayward Gallery in 1971, John Latham’s Erth utilised recently available images of our planet from space, arial imagery and pages from Encyclopaedia Britannica, with a countdown of duration which embodies Latham's concept of Event Structure and the 'Whole Event'.

Curators talks at Chelsea Space to coincide with the exhibition OBSERVER: John Latham and The Distant Perspective, (6-26 July) are led by students of MA Curating and Collections, Chelsea College of Arts, introducing the curatorial method for the show, with a focus on: the research undertaken at Flat Time House; navigating John Latham’s archive; and, the final display.
