About
The exhibition is showcasing the work of three international artists whose pieces take inspiration from music and the wealth of iconography and social structures supporting music cultures. In using this subject the artists have tapped into resonant public and private experiences, for reference, critique and commentary.Viewed collectively, the work of Rose Eken (Denmark), Juan Pablo Echeverri (Columbia) and Yason Banal (Philippines) transforms everyday and historic worlds into the realm of the metafictive. Adapted through drawing, sculpture, installation, photography, film and performance these artists address the devices of fiction, exploring the intersection between narrative and the construction of fictional illusions.
Curating the show are Charlie Fellowes and Geoff Hore Fazan who work under the title Fellowes & Pheasant. Having both worked separately on curatorial projects and events they have partnered up to almost immediate success by securing Arts Council Funding for their debut show.
This year sees the inception of their itinerant Fellowes & Pheasant gallery which aims to promote contemporary artists from the UK and around the world. For more information see www.fellowesandpheasant.com
