“Twenty-three years ago I was diagnosed with AIDS. The odds were against me and I should be dead, but here I am. On December 01, 2018 WORLD AIDS DAY and the former “DAY WITHOUT ART,” CHASE, my solo performance exhibition opens. This work is a celebration of life over death – a celebration of the lives of the 35 million people globally who did not make it, the long-term survivors and the other 43.9 million people living with HIV.” – John Hanning
