About
“My works are not loud, noisy and shouting. On the contrary, they listen”
- John Franzen
Luminaire Arts Gallery are delighted to announce John Franzens first ever solo exhibition in the UK, held from June 12th to July 12th, 2017, 10:00 - 17:00.
The private view will be held on Thursday 22nd June from 18:00 - 21:00.
Born in Germany in 1981. He graduated with a Batchelor of Fine Arts Degree in Maastricht, Netherlands. Moving from creating figurative art, his art instead has become aniconic, reaching new levels of abstraction and introspection.
The show features large reflective metal panels, which Franzen damages using various instruments to create his works of art. This includes a 12mm pump gun on brass, an axe on titanium steal, and the artists' blood on paper. The major themes of Franzen’s work are darkness, singularity, nothingness and destruction. His process of creation is a performative act, and a personal spiritual process.
