2010 marks the 40th anniversary of the Suffolk Craft Society and, in order to mark the occasion, the society will be showing members work from the past alongside that of the present.

About

The main exhibition will be the ceramic and glasswork of John Chipperfield, a founder member of the society. John originally joined the society as a potter and later developed his work to include glass. He now produces a range of dishes and decorative panels, in addition to his ceramics. His glass pieces are either kiln formed or cast and contain bold, geometric designs in subtle colours whilst his ceramic asymmetrical jug forms and shallow dishes are vehicles for dramatic colourfully glazed surface designs. Alongside the work of John Chipperfield, other members work and archive material spanning the four decades will also be on show throughout the gallery.
