John Byrne in conversation at The Mitchell Theatre, Glasgow

About

At 7pm on Monday, 16 November, 2009 at The Mitchell Theatre in Glasgow, renowned Scottish artist and playwright John Byrne will chat informally about his work with Sandy Moffat OBE, the former head of painting and printmaking at The Glasgow School of Art. The event, hosted by The Royal Glasgow Institute of the Fine Arts (The RGI) has been timed to coincide with the Institute's Annual Open Exhibition also taking place at The Mitchell from 05 November until 29 November, 2009. John Byrne is an ‘honorary RGI', along with playwright Liz Lochead, Lord Macfarlane of Bearsden and former Lord Provost of Glasgow, Pat Lally. A true Renaissance man, John Byrne's formidable creative talents have allowed him to move freely through a diverse range of creative endeavours, in which his roles as painter, author and designer are constantly in flux. The RGI would like to extend a very warm welcome, to as many people as possible, to join us for an entertaining evening where John Byrne spills the beans about his life and prodigious career in the creative melting pot. The RGI is delighted and honoured to host this special occasion. The event will start at 7pm and tickets, priced £10 each, are available from RGI Secretary Lesley Nicholl on T: 0141 248 7411, or at the door of The Mitchell Theatre, Granville Street, Glasgow on Monday, 16 November 2009.
