A survey exhibition of John Atkinson Grimshaw (1836-1893), the distinctive Victorian painter of moonlight, including his Pre-Raphaelite style landscapes, romantic lane scenes and dock views of London, Whitby, Scarborough, Glasgow, Greenock and Liverpool. The exhibition brings together important works owned by the gallery and outstanding paintings from distinguished private collections.
