EXOgallery is thrilled to announce a solo exhibition by Joeggu Hossmann, a Swiss painter merging digital Zeitgeist with oil painting.The exhibition “Energy in Another State” by Joeggu Hossmann is a powerful portrait of human existence in the digital age. His realistic oil paintings, characterized by a distinctive pixelated style, merge the precision of traditional painting techniques with the aesthetics of modern technologies.
Hossmann's works capture the essence of contemporary life– a world shaped equally by the complexity of digital interconnectedness and the fundamental questions of human identity. In his paintings, the pixels appear not only as a visual reference to digital imagery but also as a metaphorical grid reflecting the fragmentation and reconstruction of our daily lives. They illustrate how technology transforms our perception, our connections, and our self-images.
Joeggu Hossmann was born in 1978 in Thun, Switzerland, where he lives and works today. His art has been exhibited across Europe including France, Germany, Switzerland, as well as in the USA. Amongst his institutional exhibitions count Museum Bern in Switzerland and European Cultural Centre in Venice, Italy
