About
See the work of Jock McFadyen showcased in this special spotlight exhibition of work from the Gallery's permanent collection, alongside the Northern Ireland Collection display. Many of the works featured were produced in 1987 following a visit to Belfast to document a personal view of the Orange Day parades and their aftermath. Depicting real people and events, these pictures capture brilliantly the artist's talent as an acute observer of human behaviour.
Jock McFadyen is one of Britain's leading painters represented in national and international collections. He studied at Chelsea School of Art in the 1970s and was one of the Scottish painters who led the revival in figurative art in the 1980s.
