For nearly 30 years I have picked fragments of wood wondering at the intricate forms which are like a map of the tree’s life. By the cultural act of painting I follow that map to explore ideas – in this case the transgressive acts of Nero’s Golden Palace and Dante’s The Divine Comedy.
