Six English folk artists and bands (Bella Hardy, Bellowhead, Lucy Ward, Sam Carter, Spiro, and the Tom McConville Band) have been selected to perform on the ‘International Stage' at Celtic Connections 2013 in Scotland (30 Jan — 3 Feb) as part of an exclusive partnership with the English Folk Dance and Song Society (EFDSS), Spotlight England, to raise the world-wide profile of English folk music. This preview concert in London will showcase some of the contemporary forerunners of the folk scene, highlighting a selection of England's finest artists. A truly one-off show featuring Martin Simpson, Jim Moray and Emily Portman to celebrate the Spotlight England partnership with Celtic Connections. By combining the talents of three of the most innovative and ambitious folk artists in England, we have a unique performance that will see all three artists on stage together exploring classic English folk ballads. With Martin, Jim and Emily each taking the lead on a range of songs, and the whole trio providing backing and accompaniment, this is the only chance to see this performance.
