To mark the inauguration of MARe, internationally renowned artist Jeff Wall has been invited to host a solo show entitled ‘MEN’. Curated by Erwin Kessler, Director of MARe.
About
In this exhibition, the curator Erwin Kessler has selected some of Jeff Wall’s most iconic works dating from the 1980s right up until the present day, grouped in a peculiar way.
The exhibition will feature works such as ‘The Thinker’ (1986), ‘Mask Maker’ and ‘Listener’ (both dating from 2015). Other works on display include ‘Searcher’ (2007) and ‘Pawnshop’ (2009).
The thinking behind Erwin Kessler's chronological approach to this exhibition was to showcase the artists’ transition from the use of lightbox technology in the 1908s to large and small format photography in the 2000s.
