Jauser-Baby is a playground for imagination. An invitation to enter the familiar and yet the unknown. In his collages, Steiner adds cut-outs from comic books, stickers and other pictorial material from a child´s world and trash culture in order to form new sceneries. Unsweetened combinations create unexpected narratives where the focus is on the process of making and becoming. The ease and speed of Steiner´s work is visible as a hybrid, as is a witty element. Collages serve as starting point where the artist takes inspiration from or they may disclose the premonitory idea behind a work not yet come into life. With the selection chosen for Vesselroom Project Steiner attempts to temporarily isolate this specific medium by highlighting its freedom in terms of creation. At the same time, the relation between line and surface is revealed which in turn is essential to his painting.
