“JAPAN TIDE” is a cultural exchange project between the United Kingdom and Japan. This project offers access to Japanese cultural experiences through the presentation of Japanese arts, traditional culture, and cuisine during several events this year.

Hirofumi KAWAMURA Solo Exhibition

"Eyes of seeking Peace"
Initially, KAWAMURA worked to deepen his own perspective, while focusing on the simple styles of natural beauty. From the 2000s onwards, KAWAMURA began adding written texts to his work as metaphors of vitality and mystical existence. This approach was also used in later series, in which he has gradually developed to convey strong messages of peace, hope, and passion for life. His photographic works take advantage of composition, making use of blank space to create beautiful silhouettes that call to mind ink-wash paintings.
