Join the artist for an informal discussion and walk through her current solo exhibition of recent paintings on canvas and paper 'The Gift of Nearness' with Phoenix Gallery curator Matt Burrows.

Predominantly painting portraits of women artists and writers from the last century, Janet’s practice is driven by curiosity about the lives of others. She is fascinated by degrees of separation and, through her research, relishes uncovering fascinating links and connections between her subjects. These are interspersed with self-portraits of the artist as a young woman, recently rediscovered in old family albums.
