About

The History of England: From the reign of Henry IV to the death of Charles I - by a partial, prejudiced and ignorant Historian was written in 1791 when Jane was only 16. This delightful burlesque romps gleefully through the reigns of English monarchs from Henry IV to Charles I. Tim Heath's acclaimed adaptation, performed by Carole Carpenter, is packed with live music, songs, battles and recreations of Cassandra Austen's charming illustrations. Wonderful — great fun! The Stage Very funny, deserves unqualified praise Bath Chronicle Tim Heath has produced some of the British Library's most popular events, including John Betjeman's Summoned by Bells (2006), The Strachey-Carrington Letters (2005), George Eliot's The Lifted Veil (2002) and English Literature: the Musical (2001). This production is in association with Guildford's Yvonne Arnaud Theatre.
