Next to his examination of societal and political issues, Jan Böhmermann (*1981 Bremen) sharpens the boundaries of satire and its place in the cultural space again and again.

About

For the project “Deuscthland#ASNCHLUSS#Östereich” Böhmermann focuses his concentrated defocus on the identity of the Austrian republic and “its motherland Germany” (direct quote Böhmermann)—and interrogates with a due portion of black humor the political and cultural status quo of the country, which we call home. With the exhibition in Graz, Jan Böhmermann and his companions of the Bildundtonfabrik from Cologne extend their successful installation “DEUSCTHLAND” (2017, NRW Forum, Dusseldorf) to the southeast.
