Developed during the course of 2011, Surplus : For the Home is an extension of the Surplus Perfume range, designed specifically for domestic use. With a scent that is the perfect expression of elegance and joie de vivre, sit back and relax as a continuous atomized mist envelops and guides you on a journey through Californian lemon groves, ancient European forests and Oriental pastures, all without ever having to leave the comfort of your living room. Surplus Perfumes are made from the excesses of the body. Jammie Nicholas is an artist, curator and writer, living and working in London. His practice concerns itself with notions of the balance of production and consumption, informed by the laws of thermodynamics and particle physics applied to socio-economic and behavioral relationships. An interest in employing base materials, the potential equalities of polyphony and the sacrificial gift economies of potlatch, eventually manifest as: sculptures, performance, curation, schematic diagrams, online projects, collaboration, research texts and seminars. Jammie graduated from Central Saint Martins BA(Hons) Fine Art in 2010.
