About
TURN Gallery is pleased to present ECHO the first solo show of Paris-based artist Jamie Romanet. ECHO will consist of a series of 8 x 8 in. paintings on paper made between 2017 and 2019. The exhibition will open Saturday, October 26th and run until Sunday, December 8th, 2019.
Caves: the home we all came from; the walls we first painted on. Long a symbol of the heart and also the maternal; they are sites of a push-pull relationship between the light and the darkness. Emanating from within my cave are these small paintings — my echo. Each work is an iteration, a reincarnation, and a hope to draw the viewer into an intimate world where we may attempt to understand and speak about our human experience
