The vibrant and meticulous detail of 76 year old artist James Reeve, is to be exhibited at Jonathan Clark Fine Art in latest exhibition, ‘Morfinescas’.

About

Comprised of beautiful and elaborately composed symbolic narratives, these works reveal days of exotic travel, curious meetings and the theatrical vision that inspire his story telling masterpieces. The former monk, who spent the formative decades of his creative life as an artist in Mexico, unravels fantastical visions of Old Testament tales, memento mori, fairy-tale palaces, and places of the dead from which truth and fiction, the natural and the supernatural are impossible to disentangle.

The Jonathan Clark gallery in London’s Chelsea is one of the leading galleries in the market for Modern British art, and one of the most respected. Established now for over 25 years, it represents the estates of an impressive list of significant post-war artists including Ivon Hitchens, Roger Hilton, Reg Butler, Ceri Richards, Eduardo Paolozzi, Bryan Wynter and Kenneth Armitage.
