JakBox is an emerging artist-led collective, proud to present its first exhibition of works in a new art space in Camden; the JakBox Studio.
About
JakBox has a wide-ranging practice that explores existing markings and surfaces, alongside an element of playfulness and unpredictability. Nature, science and man's contact with materials all play a part in the work. Focusing on texture, JakBox transforms discarded materials, creating distinctive and evocative pieces.
The JakBox Presents exhibition will showcase work developed over the past two years, including the Pavement Series. Through casting a large number of pavements in Camden with silicone, JakBox offers fresh perspectives on what we perceive as overlooked environments.
Also on show will be Readymades, a series of repurposed and reassembled objects that fire the imagination and inspire fresh understandings and appreciation of them in their new incarnation.
During the show, the JakBox Studio will be open Tuesday – Saturday 10am – 5pm.
Following the JakBox Presents exhibition, the JakBox Studio welcomes the public to its open studio and exhibition space.
“It’s not what you look at, it’s the way you look at it” Simon Williams, Head of JakBox
